Crime lab work closed the Montreal murder case of Catherine Daviau, 26, slain in December 2008, identifying her killer as a prison inmate who died in 2021.
"Genetic genealogy finally allowed us to identify with certainty the perpetrator of this horrible crime," police Commander Mélanie Dupont said Sept. 17.
Police named the murderer as Jacques Bolduc, who was serving time for robbery and attempted murder.
